The Video in Lagos.

Seeing the video performance of Burna Boy for the grammy awards was surreal for me. For two reasons. One, the choice of location that was used, and two, the glare of publicity on the US Grammy Award platform.

What has happened is a reveal of one of the most untapped goldmines of Nigeria and by extension Africa vis-a-vis the inherent opportunities within the tourism sector of our economy. Albeit, the plans of the Lagos State government embarking on the revamp of the cultural edifice have appeared proactive, creating a strategic fit and pertinence for international interest and foreign investment.

The completion and effective utilization of the iconic National Theatre will help in the sustenance of global liquidity for our economy thus reducing our rising debt deficit. Case in point, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa, etc.

Thank you @burnaboygram for the global exhibit….Nigeria to the world….I stan proud!!!

Power of Planning

You must have heard the quote “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”. It is as sure as the sun and daylight😁
.
Planning is defined as a detailed proposal of actions or achievements.
.
Characterized as a deliberate and intentional activity, the process can sometimes be unnecessarily mind-tasking and intensely thought-provoking. But as professionals and technocrats, the efficacy of planning cannot be undermined. Why?
.
You develop capacities in the following:

1. Visioning and Forecasting
2. Critical Thinking
3. Problem-Solving for tomorrow
4. Time and Resource Management
5. Strategic Leadership and Personal Development
6. Conserving Energy and Relieving Tensions
.
You will agree it pays off in the long-run, wouldn’t you?

Dealing with Failure

When we set out a plan, there is a proclivity for success. But you and I know that life experiences contradict this philosophy. It’s not always confetti, right? 😀 So, the question is, how do you provide for failure?
.
It is important that we are comfortable with the discomfort of making decisions that may fail. The fear of failure must not paralyze the decision-making process🤷🏿‍♀️
.
So, here are a few tips:
– Develop capacity for despair
– Understand that learning happens in both processes of success and failure
– Spend time in this situation (the most essential part)
– Understand and evaluate what is happening
– Evaluate, Interrogate and experiment
– Readjust by being flexible
.
Your breakthrough awaits!!! Build capacity to endure for your DEFINITE win😁

Managing yourself

Hello guys! Having put pen to paper to ensure that I am as productive (though it is really proving tough) during this lockdown period, I have picked up a couple of books to read. I’ll be working towards putting together a series of my favorite quotes from these great books! 😜

Presently, I’m reading a book I consider quite appropriate for this period. ‘On Managing Yourself’ is a compilation of articles from various leaders from the School of Management. Very wise nuggets to absorb from it!🤓 Being a product of Management Studies, my experiences and learnings in Administration and Business have taught me so many things. So on that note, I figured it would be instructive to myself and to others possibly, to share some of their thoughts and then express my interpretations on them. 👩🏾‍🏫
.

Come join me as I start this journey and let’s make some sense out of the no-sense of this period my peeps!♥️
